Prior to starting his own construction & reserve analysis company, Shawn Barrera had six years experience as senior estimator and construction superintendent in general construction. He served as a California Contractor's License Board Industry Expert, and also served as an expert witness for the State Attorney Generals Office. The company is a member of the Community Associations Institute, the Council of Condominium Homeowners Associations, Inc., Executive Council of Homeowners, and the American Resort Development Association. The company continues the tradition of the late founder providing community associations with the highest quality of service and expertise, completing over 9,000 reserve studies throughout California, Oregon, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Hawaii.

Are you aware it's the law in many states for Homeowner associations to have a reserve study? The reserve study helps prepare associations and avoid litigation as a proper budgeting tool to avoid special assessments with well-maintained common areas.
Having adequate reserves is like having gas in your car. If you don't adequately fill your tank you will be unable to reach your destination of choice. The importance of an adequate reserve is the empowerment it gives your association to maximize the full potential of property value by replacing common area components at the end of its lifecycle.
